Mod Version Mismatch
This one sucks.
If you ever see "Mod Version Mismatch" this means one of two things:
- Your mods are not up to date/corrupt.
- The server's mods are not up to date/corrupt.
The first is most likely to happen, the second would be obvious if occurring.
Fix Your Mods
For as convenient as the Steam Mod system is, problems are possible. For example: if you try to jump into a game too soon, you could potentially corrupt your active mod downloads.
To fix this, remove the corrupted mods and re-download them by re-launching the game (and waiting for the downloads to complete). You'll need to know where your \steam\ installation directory lives; this is most likely "C:\Program Files (x86)\steam" the default installation location.
Mods are made up of two parts: the .mod file and the content directory. Both files are named after the mod's ID. You'll want to find the mods that most recently updated (and failed) and remove these.
You need to remove both the .mod file and the content directory completely. If you're really not sure, you can always remove them all, but this may cause a much larger download and longer wait time.
...Or Just Wait!
There's always the chance your mods have updated before the server's, resulting in a "Mod Mismatch." The Different Earth is set to check for updates to both ARK and mods on a regular basis. If you receive a "Mod Mismatch" and you're unsure if it's your own mod files, check The Different Earth Mod Collection to see which mod updated recently: if the mod update time is between a Different Earth update interval, please wait for this update interval to pass and the mods should be updated server-side.
